Our Story

Zack & Corie

As most love stories do, it all started at a Junk Yard. Well, more accurately at an Airport but the former makes for a catchier story.

Over a decade ago, in July 2013, we met for the first time at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport waiting for our rental car. Corie traveling from Ohio where she’d lived her whole life, and Zack from California.

We met through work, both joining the Copart (salvage/junk yard) Management Training Program in Dallas. We may disagree on who made the proverbial first move but neither denies our instant connection.

After completing our month’s long training in Dallas. Corie headed to Virginia while Zack went to Tennessee. We spoke daily (often for hours) and would visit each other frequently.

Only 6-months into Zack’s new role, he quit the job he had just moved across the county for, packed up his truck, and drove to Virginia to move in with Corie.

Unaware of the weather and blinded by the excitement that we would be seeing each other every day, he drove overnight through one of the year’s worst white-out storm conditions. Bald tires, broken windshield wipers, no 4-wheel drive, not a car insight for hours, but he finally made it Richmond, Virginia. Only 4 hours longer than it would have taken in normal conditions.

Shortly after moving in together, we got Aiden from a local breeder (before French Bulldogs were popular).

Then 7-months later, we made the decision to move from Virginia to Northern California where we still reside today. Driving cross country stopping at many landmarks including Gateway Arch National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Idaho Falls, and Zion National Park.

While the first part our relationship moved quickly, Zack took his sweet time ensuring Corie was the perfect partner, waiting 7-years to propose. Now, after being engaged for 4-years, we are finally ready to make it official and can’t wait to celebrate with those closest.
